Top 5 Social Apps on Android in Central America Q3 2023

During the third quarter of 2023, the top social apps on the Android platform in Central America showed notable trends in downloads, revenue, and active users. Here’s a closer look at the performance of the TikTok, Threads, Instagram, TikTok Lite - Save Data, and Facebook Lite apps.

TikTok from TikTok Pte. Ltd. experienced a steady increase in weekly revenue, peaking at approximately $93K in the final week of September. Weekly downloads showed an upward trend mid-quarter, reaching around 715K in the week of July 24, while weekly active users saw a slight decline from 34.2M to 33.5M throughout the quarter.

Threads from Instagram saw a significant spike in weekly downloads at the start of the quarter, with 3.4M downloads in early July. However, this number decreased to around 134K by the end of September. Active users followed a similar trend, starting at nearly 3M in early July and dropping to approximately 1.7M by the end of the quarter.

Instagram also from Instagram, maintained a steady weekly download rate, fluctuating between 300K and 400K throughout the quarter. Revenue saw a peak of about $23K in the first week of July, while active users remained relatively stable, averaging around 50M throughout the quarter.

TikTok Lite - Save Data from TikTok Pte. Ltd. saw a significant jump in weekly downloads in early September, reaching over 650K. Active users increased from 3.4M in late June to over 4M by mid-September, indicating growing popularity of the lighter version of TikTok.

Facebook Lite from Meta Platforms, Inc. showed consistent weekly downloads, peaking at around 357K in mid-September. Active users saw a steady increase, growing from approximately 12.7M in late June to nearly 13.5M by the end of September.
